Abstract: Hydrous ruthenium oxide was formed by a new process. The precursor was obtained by mixing the aqueous solutions of RuCl3·xH2O and NaHCO3. The addition of NaHCO3 led to the formation of an oxide with extremely fine RuO2 particles forming a porous network structure in the oxide electrode. Polyethylene glycol was added as a controller to partly inhibit the sol-gel reaction. The rate cap…
Abstract. In this work, diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings were deposited on plasma nitrided AISI 1045 steel by magnetron sputtering. Three BN-containing additives andmolybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) were added to poly-alpha-olefin (PAO) as additives. The additive content (mass fraction) in PAO was fixed at 0.5 wt%. The friction and wear characters of DLC coatings on nitrided steel discs …
Abstract ZrO2-supported H3PW12O40 (HPW) catalysts were used to catalyze the dehydration of glycerol to produce acrolein at 315 8C under a high space velocity (GHSVGlycerol = 400 h1). The catalysts were prepared by varying the loading of HPW on two ZrO(OH)2 supports of different preparations, followed by calcination in flowing nitrogen. The use of alcogel-derived ZrO(OH)2-AN for the support…
X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray absorption spectroscopy, and magnetic measurements were used to investigate highly porous silica aerogels containing iron and cobalt or iron and nickel, calcined at 450 °C, which are intermediates in the formation of CoFe2O4-SiO2 and NiFe2O4-SiO2 aerogel nanocomposites. Aerogels without iron and pure Co and Ni silicate hydroxides w…
