This study aims at evaluating the services that libraries offer to the students of library and
information management, measuring the extent to which these services are used from the
students’ point of view as well as evaluating the adequacy of the practical training for them. In
the course of this study, two hypotheses were tested. The first one focused on the
compatibility between the services that the four libraries present and the library’s science
teaching status, while the second hypotheses tested the users’ satisfaction regarding the
services. The study community included four colleges: Planning & Management College,
Princess Alia University College, Irbid University College, and Kerek University College,
with a total of 890 students. A total of 265 students constituted the study sample, they
represented the 3rd and 4th year students who completed 92 credit hours successfully. The
main results of this study were as follows: the services presented by the libraries suit the
nature of library information teaching especially the reference services, the iterative monthly
visits to the library are common, and that the book lending service is the most commonly used
service by the students. Although the study showed a low level of satisfaction among users
regarding the services these libraries offer, it also revealed that these students are satisfied
with both the positive and cooperative attitudes of the employees who work in the libraries
and the training programs from which they are benefiting. The study concluded with a list90
of recommendations which are as follows: the students must be motivated by their instructors
to use the libraries, it is the library’s responsibility to do whatever is needed to encourage the
users to use its electronic services and the databases available, the researcher also recommends
conducting studies that seek to improve these services on a regular basis, even if they are
suitable for the nature of library information major, they can still be improved to meet future expectations.
