Eksplorasi Keragaman Serangga Coleoptera dan Lepidoptera di Pulau Moti, Ternate, Maluku Utara
ABSTRACT.
The small island of Moti as a part of Ternate islands has a unique ecosystem which never been
explored yet. This study was aimed to explore diversity of Lepidopteran and Coleopteran and
to the discussed its on the term of Island biogeography theory and the impact of habitat
fragmentation and altitude to its diversity. Sampling was conducted by using actocarpus,
banana, and dung bait, light, and malaise trap, and sweep net. Only actocarpus, light trap and
sweep net successfully collected Coleopteran and Lepidopteran. From actocarpus trap, 22
species coleopterans were collected in which belong to Cerambycidae, Curculionidae,
Buprestidae and Meloidea. From light trap, 23 species coleopteran were collected belonging
to Cerambicidae, Curculionidae, Elatiridae, Lucanidae, Meloidae, Ocdemeridae, Pasalidae,
Scarabeidae, and Tenebrionidae. Whilst, from sweep net, 23 lepidopteran species were collected.
They belong to 5 families, Hesperidae, Lycaenidae, Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, and Pieridae. It
seems that the present of some species was influenced by habitat type and altitude, but further
analysis needed.
