Renewable Energy Systems: Advanced Conversion Technologies and Applications
The aim of this book is to describe advanced conversion technologies that are useful for engineering students and practicing professionals. It consists of approximately 800 pages, 550 diagrams, and 50 algorithms and introduces more than 200 topologies of advanced converters originally developed by us, including 150 updated circuits on modern conversion technologies. Some new topologies published recently have also been discussed. All prototypes are novel approaches and great contributions to modern power electronics. Conversion technologies have evolved rapidly in recent years. Many new converter circuits, which were not well analyzed earlier, have been covered in detail. The book also describes appropriate methods to determine accurate solutions and provides examples to design converters for industrial applications. Some historic problems have been resolved, for example, the accurate determination of the conduction angle of single-phase rectifiers and power factor correction.
Due to the shortage of energy worldwide, we have to search for new sources of energy. To study energy, we must explore the universe. In this book, we first review some of the basics of astronomy and earth physics, study certain pioneering methods, and finally return to our main topic—the development of renewable sources of energy, energy-saving methods, and improvement of power supply quality.
