Principles of Tropical Agronomy
This book is concerned with the principles by which crop management can influence how plants use environmental resources. It deals with the biological processes that operate in the links between management, the physical environment and agricultural vegetation. It also seeks to identify general principles that operate across tropical species, cropping systems and environments.
The purpose of the book is to provide students, researchers, advisers and managers with a biologically based account that is nevertheless accessible to those with little knowledge of plant biology and environmental physics. It is hoped that this framework of analysis will enable more informed decisions to be made both about
applied research and about management.
