Images: Objects of Analysis in Sociology and Relational Psychoanalysis

This article responds to Bersani’s critique of psychoanalysis’ personalism by focusing on the role of art, images, and objects in both psychoanalysis and sociology. I take examples of my research in visual art, and images conjured in my own psychoanalytic treatment, to look at the nonhuman agencies present in these relationships.
