Abstract. Pd/H-Beta catalysts with different silica-to-alumina ratio prepared by an impregnation method have been studied by XANES/EXAFS, IR, XRD and TEM. It was shown that palladium in calcined Pd/H-Beta samples exists as palladium oxide that can be easily reduced to Pd metal. The catalysts were tested in selective oxidation of piperonyl alcohol to piperonylaldehyde at 80 oC. The Pd/H-Beta…
Abstract. The hydrogenation of a-pinene was investigated in a batch reactor over 4 wt% palladium on carbon (Pd/ C) catalyst in temperature range of 50–90 8C and 2–11 bar of hydrogen pressure using n-octane as a solvent. The reaction network involves hydrogenation of a-pinene to two stereoisomers. The reaction kinetics was established in conditions free from diffusional limitations. The …
Abstract. Catalytic deoxygenation of palmitic and stearic acids mixture was studied over four synthesized Pd catalysts supported on synthetic carbon (Sibunit) in a semibatch reactor and dodecane as a solvent at 260–300 8C. The catalysts were prepared by precipitation deposition method using Pd chlorides as metal precursors. All catalysts contained 1 wt.% Pd, however, the metal dispersion …
Abstract The hydrogenation of linoleic acid was investigated in semi-batch slurry reactors over 5 wt% palladium on carbon (Pd/C) catalyst in temperature and H2 pressure ranges of 40–100 8C and 0.5–20 bar using ndecane as a solvent. The reaction network involves hydrogenation of linoleic acid to monoenoic acid isomers, predominantly oleic acid, and further hydrogenation of monoenoic acid…
