Measurement and relevance of maximum metabolic rate in fishes

Maximum (aerobic) metabolic rate (MMR) is defined here as the maximum rate of oxygen consumption (Ṁ O2max) that a fish can achieve at a given temperature under any ecologically relevant circumstance.
